Color Correction is done, now onto the next step....
So I have finished the color correction and rendered it out. So the next step is I take nearly all of the shots into Adobe After Effects. I apply some filters to clean up the images a bit more. In particular, I use a de-noise plug-in called Neat Video. This is a great plug-in for any video editor. If you have footage that has been gained up or shot at night with little lighting you can fix those shots remarkably easy with Neat Video. The cinematographer and I have decided to keep some grain, so I'm just taking the edge off. There are some examples below of our lead actress with Noise reduction on and off, also there is a screen grab of the UI of After Effects, an absolutely essential program for any type of film/video production.
Here is the color corrected image with no noise reduction
And here is the image withe noise reduction applied, can you tell the difference? It's subtle....
This is what I stare at everyday. After Effects is an incredible program, it's extremely flexible and can do many different things (color correction, compositing, rotoscoping, motion graphics). In this shot are Tamika Shannon, Stephen Green sitting at the bar, and Rabon Hutcherson II as the bartender.
